Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

To be home with the children everyday, to see their unique personalities. Homeschool allows me not only to see how they grow academically, but to see their character grow everyday. I am also able to spend time with them through extracurricular outside activities during public school hours. We are able to spend more quality time together, and they get what I could not as a child. I did not have any siblings close in age, I also grew up with a hard-working single mom from 8 years old.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

When you notice the small things paying off after years of pouring into them and not feeling an immediate impact. Every small impact starts with a slight change, a small movement forward, even several movements backward, but the trajectory will pay off. It was important for me not to be discouraged and to keep being thankful for each day and the moments that come. I also had to learn not to let my emotions derail my progress on particularly hard days. I could not do it all without Jesus.

What would you do with $20,000?

I would love to finish our remodel. After COVID hardships, we downsized into a small 1000 sq ft home where we demoed many things to remodel but have not had the financial needs to focus on it. We put the children's musical talents and sports first instead, looking to pour into them, all of which we do not regret. Now, I would love to expand and add a room for more privacy for my teen, finish the 2nd bathroom, and finish the kitchen.
