The most rewarding part is seeing the kindness and joy that my little one spreads in her environment. She picks up on cues and lessons and it is so clear when she then adopts and modifies for her situation. When I see her help someone, and then two minutes later, set and enforce her boundaries, I feel like she is being prepared appropriately for the next step in life. Her laughter and silliness bring me joy, but the willingness to speak her mind is what brings me peace of mind for her future.
What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?Patience. PATIENCE. I practice this daily, sometimes more than others. I am able to recognize the times when I am less patient and then reconcile and balance when more patience is needed, vs. when the answer is discipline. Note that even this, the largest lesson, is still not even close to perfect. I think it's important that she sees me be human and imperfect and able to make mistakes and adjust afterwards.
What would you do with $20,000?I would use it to help pay for our roof. Last year it started to leak, and since then my husband has been working overtime and I have been working two jobs.
