I may be over 40, far from family, and left my comfort job and yet I choose my family every single day.
We would like to thank you for supporting Teresa Salazar in this year's competition. Your participation made a huge impact for Children’s Miracle Network® and their mission to provide life-saving care and improve the health of children across the country.
Motherhood keeps me going. I’ve never been more proud of myself, especially in moments when I once would have given up. It has revealed an inner strength I didn’t know I had. That strength, and the resilience behind it, is something I want my daughter to see and carry with her. Despite failures and how vulnerable we feel, we can always rise again,
What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?Consistency matters, my actions speak louder than my words. If I want to raise confident, assertive adults, I have to lead by example. Even when my instincts push me to react, I choose to pause, breathe, and respond with empathy. Every day is a chance to unlearn old patterns, grow alongside my child, and intentionally create a healthier path forward.
What would you do with $20,000?I got engaged during postpartum two years ago and dreamed of planning my wedding once my daughter was a bit older, now, we have another baby on the way, that dream feels further away. With $20,000, I’d create the wedding I’ve always wanted in Mexico, a beautiful, meaningful small celebration of our love and journey. It would also give us time to recharge, enjoy a country we love, and take real time off together with friends and family.
