Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

The most rewarding part of being a mom, especially as an active duty mom is watching my son grow strong and resilient in a life that’s anything but predictable. Seeing him persevere on a daily basis through long stretches without a parent all the while wearing the cutest gummy smile. The most rewarding part is realizing that despite the challenges, i’m not just raising a boy, i’m raising a strong and compassionate individual who will know how to stand tall no matter where life takes him.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

Motherhood has taught me resilience in its truest form. As a military mom, I’ve learned how to hold everything together through constant deployment changes and the uncertainty that comes with this life. It’s shown me how to be both strong and soft, steady for my son while carrying the weight of distance and sacrifice. I’ve learned to adapt and to find strength I didn’t know I had, and to cherish every moment we have as a family of three.

What would you do with $20,000?

I’d use the $20,000 to create stability and opportunity for my family. Pay down debt and build a solid emergency fund. Set aside money for my son’s education and experiences. Most importantly, I’d create peace of mind, so I can continue showing up as the strong and present wife and mom my husband and son deserve.
