Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Every time I am sitting on the floor with my kids and they are simply playing together, giggling and smiling, I am reminded of how lucky I am. It feels like the slow, easy moments are rare, so I savor every second. The most rewarding part of motherhood is simply having two healthy babies who love each other and portray the kindness in their hearts through play, seeing the best parts yourself and your spouse in them and being forced to slow down and enjoy what you have right in front of you.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

In all the teaching, explaining and coaching that I do throughout the day with my kids, many times feeling like I’m nagging or repeating myself 1000x, I am constantly learning more and more about myself. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that living in the uncomfortable space between conflicting emotions is when the most exciting things are happening and letting go of control will allow these things to blossom.

What would you do with $20,000?

With $20,000, I would plan a dream vacation for my little family. Maybe we could do a ski vacation in a new place with lessons for the kids, while my husband and I ski for a bit in our own. We could do extra activities with the kids, like tubing. We could stay somewhere close to the mountain and maybe have someone cook dinners for us, so we could enjoy a fire and games with the kids. We could watch the snow fall, roast marshmallows and drink hot chocolate with the beautiful mountain backdrop.
