Tara Woodbury

I don't consider myself super. I'm a mom fighting for my 19 yo medically disabled daughter daily while trying to run a travel business.

What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Love that is unconditional. Even when I have not been the best mom, my kids still loved me. Even when they become adults, a child's love for you is the most rewarding thing you can feel.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

That I'm human and I have to take the oxygen mask for myself first before I put it on someone else. I spent too much time pouring everything into everyone else and forgot about me for a while. It cost me a lot. Changing that improved my mental and physical health and my relationships.

What would you do with $20,000?

I would take my daughter to MA to see her dad and the rest of our family for a nice long visit. And then I would invest the rest in my business so I could try to get it to the next level. My dream is to have retreats for older moms who are still taking care of kids whether it's because they are disabled or for other reasons and allow them to talk about the challenges they deal with in a safe space.
