Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

I love learning about each one of my boys (5 & under) as they grow & take on their unique personalities.There is such a sense of awe & wonder experiencing life again through their little eyes. I am grateful for this gift as a reminder of the immense value each life has in the heart of God. I strive to encourage my sons to know their immeasurable worth. It’s a joy to celebrate their moments of understanding, successes w/ accomplishing tough things & navigating difficult feelings as they grow.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

Motherhood is a humbling blessing. As mothers, we are called to love, nurture, provide for, teach, affirm and pray for these beautiful little humans with grace, gentleness and self control. It is often at the expense of our own wants, needs and ambitions. It requires a daily surrender of ourselves to the Lord so that we can—in humility —be filled w/peace, patience, courage, and love to guide these children to love the LORD and to make the world a better place through loving others well.

What would you do with $20,000?

Children are some of the most vulnerable in our communities. We would first allocate $2000 to support non-profits for at-risk youth. Next, we would address needed home repairs. We recently moved into an older home which required lots of time and money to make it habitable…and now the AC unit is broken—requiring complete replacement of the unit and the furnace. Our kids’ dream Vacation: The boys would LOVE to go to LegoLand!
