Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

I'd say the best part is giving him the life I never had. I grew up in a rough neighborhood. Things were tough for my family. There are lots of things my son will never have to experience, but I share what it was like for me so he understands gratitude and what you can accomplish with hard work. Its also rewarding to see the kind of man hes growing up to be. He's kind, loving, and affectionate. It makes me really proud of him.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

Feeling safe and loved are the most powerful feelings in the world. My son was so little when I went through everything I did and he went though a lot too. Everything changed for him. It was for the better, but he was too young to understand. But through it all, I did everything I could to show him he is safe and loved. He is so well adjusted despite everything. He even tells me I'm safe and loved too now.

What would you do with $20,000?

I would put some of it towards my second degree, which I'm currently working on. Some would go to childcare. I dont have any family in the area so that adds up. But I would definitely use some to splurge a little. I'd get my son some new kinetic sand. It's his absolute favorite. Definitely take him for some fun day trips too. For me, I'd hire a good babysitter and get a 2 hour massage 😅
