What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

The most rewarding part of being a mom is getting to raise my daughter to become a strong woman. Supporting her goals and dreams and spending countless weekends rink side cheering her on as she plays hockey. Being the one that gets to teach her everything! From brushing her hair, dressing up, properly applying makeup, to camping, fishing, hunting, maintaining a vehicle and eventually driving. Having her look back one day and say "my Mom taught me how to do that" is going to be a great reward.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

Motherhood has taught me to stay strong in faith. Faith that everything works out for a reason. Faith that we will be okay, even through the stresses and struggles we may face. Raising my daughter alone in the harshness of Alaska, always keeping my head on a swivel, always aware of our surroundings, always ready and prepared for wildlife encounters, earthquakes, highway closures, windstorms, snowstorms, or whatever, it has all taught me I'm stronger & more resilient than I ever knew I could be.

What would you do with $20,000?

I would love to take my daughter on her first real vacation outside of Alaska. I would put some of it onto our heating fuel account to ensure that we have enough fuel to get through a couple winters without worrying. She also needs goalie gear that is her own. I also want to help bless other mom's I know. Probably buy myself a new bra or two, because like I said, I go without so she can have, hockey is not a cheap sport especially as a single mom so there is a lot of "mom go without times".
