Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Watching “potential” develop and “capacity” expand before my eyes! Not only has something deep within myself awoken and expanded with each child, but my capacity grows along with each challenge my child(ren) overcome. Maybe it’s not so much an expanding as a continual emptying of the old me and renewal - watching their little souls continue to expand with each rapid life lesson. Seeing their potential develop along the journey of life is such a joy and reward I still struggle putting into words.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

The art of the Pivot - we often hold a trajectory in life and simple plans like “I’m not using a pacifier” quickly changes when you realize the sweet sweet blessing of your first born utilizing a pacifier. As mothers, we bear our own challenges as well as the weight of helping our littles navigate their unique challenges. One of my favorite sayings is “we learned better, and so now we do better.” Motherhood has taught me the necessity and joy of simple continual “pivots” in life.

What would you do with $20,000?

I would invest into root cause awareness for physical/mental illness. A portion would go towards my health treatments: remediating and remodeling our home we had to leave over a year ago (when my physical/mental health declined rapidly), creating a safe space for me to live in while I begin CIRS treatments and get my health back. I would also pour into growing my business to educate and help bring awareness of this illness through my story to bring hope to CIRS families to “get their mom back.”
