What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Seeing them learn something new and light up with confidence and a smile. I enjoy teaching them skills in life, and being someone that cares about others. When your child does something caring for a stranger there is no greater pride. When I see them holding doors or helping strangers without me asking them brings a smile to my face. When I see them overcome a struggle or overcome a fear to try something new it makes my heart happy because I know how hard it is for them with their special needs.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

Motherhood has taught me that all you can do is teach and support. It’s completely up to them what choices they make in life. Teaching and also be an example of what you teach is the hardest part about being a parent. I’ve learned the hard way how important it is to have self esteem and boundaries with ADHD myself. So leading 3 special needs boys ADHD/Autism while I’m still learning how to overcome my own struggles is a hard adventure to do together. I was late diagnosed with ADHD after learning

What would you do with $20,000?

I would put the money towards fixing up our tiny home. We live in a small cozy home that was built in the 80s but as a first responder and single Mom I make $21 an hour and it’s hard to make ends meet while also trying to fix/repair our home as time goes on. I was raised in poverty so to be able afford a home on my home is certainly something to be proud of and grateful for. I would just like to make home repairs that would provide my boys with a more comfortable housing arrangement.
