We would like to thank you for supporting Sarah Winkelman in this year's competition. Your participation made a huge impact for Children’s Miracle Network® and their mission to provide life-saving care and improve the health of children across the country.

What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

I would have to say that it is knowing that the kiddos that I have raised no longer have to feel alone and left out in this big world when everyone else seemed to have walked out and away from them I made sure that they had a place to call home. Where they knew they always had someone no matter what. I have raised my 2 nieces when I was 20 and I also raised a little 2 year old that wasn't mine. As well as 2 other kiddos that are like my niece and nephew for the last 5 months now.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

Not everybody that has kids are meant to be parents. And it definitely doesn't have to be blood related to consider someone part of your family. These kiddos were definitely my purpose in life. And why I made it through cancer.

What would you do with $20,000?

I would buy a house first so that I would be able to have peace in my heart knowing that these kiddos always always had a place to call home that they never had to struggle like I have to know there's always a roof over their heads without the worry of losing it. We have struggled for so long but we always manage to pull through by the grace of God that is!!!
