Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

The days I can look out in my yard and think ‘wow, we prayed for this for so long,’ are so so rewarding! This feeling happens so often for me! However the most rewarding are the hard days.. the days I stop and pray to get through the day. (Today, if I am honest!) It never fails, in the midst of those days my wild, all gas, 3yr old runs up and gives me kisses just because. It’s as if he’s reassuring me that I am doing great and we’re right where we need to be!

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

Does it have to be just one? I can’t choose between patience and slowing down. I prayed for patience long before my babies came earthside. My husband and I waited years to become parents, and when we were finally gifted our oldest (3), it made everything sweeter. Now, he continues to teach me patience every day—he’s independent, strong-willed, and keeps me growing. I take a breath, slow down, and keep learning right alongside him.

What would you do with $20,000?

That’s a tough question! With $20,000, I’d do one of two things: invest in my children’s education or pour it into my growing private mental health practice. As a play therapist, I work with many children and families in my community, and growth brings new needs. This opportunity would help us expand into a larger space, train more therapists, and continue providing much-needed mental health support.
