What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

I'm not sure there is anything more rewarding than creating, carrying and nurturing life! The role we play in raising humanity is so significant and deeply meaningful. For me, it's showing my biological and foster kids that they are loved unconditionally not because of what they've done to earn it, but because of who they are. No matter if you do this for one child or 10, the role of mothering someone well is the greatest privilege in the world. Every mom is SUPER!

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

Presence. I've found that being consistently present and available to my children who are now 23, 21, 19 and 16 has been the best gift I can give them. I wasn't able to be "home" with them like I had dreamed of, I was showing up to teach other peoples children each day, but picking them up from school and connecting at home would cover a multitude of inadequacies as a mom. I also know Motherhood doesn't end at 18. My own mother and mother-in-law still bless our family with presence and love.

What would you do with $20,000?

Live debt free, replace the terrible brown carpet in my bedroom, bless my husband and kids by creating memories that we will all look back on with joy!
