Watching his little face light up, smiling and coming up to me to be picked up when he sees me. That tells me that I’m his safe space, I make him happy, and he knows I’m mommy. It makes all those late nights, sleep deprivation, and busy days with no break worth it. He’s starting to communicate so well and his little personality is getting more and more fun each day. Watching him grow into a such a happy little boy has filled me with more joy than I ever could’ve imagined.
What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?Just go with it. I’ve always been very scheduled and like to know what’s around the corner. But after having my boy, I had to throw that out the window. There are a lot of curve balls that being a first time mom will throw at you, and I had to learn to just ride the wave. This also made me miss my mom more if that was even possible. Knowing that she felt the same things I felt when she did this for the first time is so special and I will cherish that feeling even if I can’t ask her about it.
What would you do with $20,000?As first-time parents in our 20s, we are doing our best, but things are tight. This money would help us towards moving to a safer area, being closer to family, and creating a more secure and supportive home for our growing family.
