The most rewarding part of being a mom is learning that love goes far beyond words. My oldest, who has cerebral palsy and is nonverbal, has taught me to listen with my heart and celebrate every milestone, no matter how small. My youngest reminds me how fast life moves and to slow down and cherish every moment. Together, my boys have redefined what joy truly means to me.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

Motherhood has taught me resilience and that everything is seasonal. Coordinating my oldest’s therapies and medical needs as he was once tube-fed and now enjoys purees, while watching my youngest grow so quickly has shown me to embrace each stage, celebrate even the smallest progress, and trust that both challenges and joys pass. I’ve learned that strength isn’t just enduring the challenges, it’s finding meaning in every moment.

What would you do with $20,000?

I dream of creating a foundation to make parks and public spaces in our community truly accessible. My oldest, who uses gait trainers and adaptive equipment, has shown me how limited playgrounds can be. Accessible swings, play structures, and turf instead of bark would let all children and parents or caregivers with mobility challenges play safely and inclusively. I’d also use part of it to get him an adaptive tricycle, so he can experience the simple joy of riding alongside other kids.
