What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Reflecting back over more than 20 years as a mom, I can honestly say watching my boys grow into their own amazing selves and allowing them to discover their unique strengths is the most rewarding. They are independent, smart, goal setters who can also enjoy a quiet fun night with family at home. They treasure being near, but also have an adventure to explore. Honestly what more can a mother want as a reward!?

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

You’ve got to be nimble & keep talking. Just as you think you have it worked out, things change. They hit a new development stage, things go differently from a sibling, something doesn’t go as they hoped or they challenge you. There certainly isn’t a manual with kids and none of us are 100% confident all the time. But during those toughest times, continuing to talk with your kids -give them credit for their resilience and resourcefulness. Also talk with your partner, with your family or friends.

What would you do with $20,000?

I would love to use some of this toward the boys education as two are in university and one is a high schooler with big hopes and dreams, I would also like to put in a hot tub to enjoy relaxation as a family and for me after days cheering for and supporting these young men of ours!!
