I would say just watching my kids grow up and become who they are. It’s kind of surreal sometimes. My daughter is 12 and figuring herself out, and my son is 20 and out in the world doing his own thing, and I get to see both of those stages at once. There are moments where I just look at them and think, how did we get here already? It’s the everyday stuff, like conversations, their personalities, the way they think… that’s the part I love the most.
What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?Probably that I don’t have as much control as I thought I did, and that’s actually a good thing. You do your best to raise and guide them, but they’re their own people. It’s taught me to let go a little, be more patient, and not stress over every small thing.
What would you do with $20,000?First, I would pay off the medical debt from my cancer treatments. It would mean so much to finally close that chapter and free my family from that financial burden. Then I’d take my kids on a trip of a lifetime. They carried so much during that my treatments, and I think in some ways it was harder on them than me. I’d love to give us a chance to make some happy memories together.
