This is hard to answer because it’s different for each child. For my 14-year-old it’s knowing that I raised a good human being. The fact that he is so attentive and so caring. That he said from day one he wants to coach his sister sports. With my three month old, it’s her smile. It makes me feel like I’m doing something right even when I feel like I am failing as a parent.
What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?Motherhood is still teaching me lessons every day. I think the biggest lesson is that I am still growing as a person and that I have to give myself grace because this is still my first time in the world just like it’s theirs. I haven’t seen and done all the things and it’s OK to learn new things and grow each day.
What would you do with $20,000?With the $20,000 I would probably take a much-needed vacation. I want my kids to be able to experience different cultures and all the things in life. Life isn’t meant to be sedentary, life is meant to explore and travel and experience new culture, and people and places. I would love to take the train from my home to Washington, which is across the whole upper United States. After that, take a cruise up to Alaska.
