Mom to a 11 mo old, pediatric PT & miscarriage awareness advocate—had my baby during my final clinical rotation and finished it a week later
We would like to thank you for supporting Sabrina Dicus in this year's competition. Your participation made a huge impact for Children’s Miracle Network® and their mission to provide life-saving care and improve the health of children across the country.
The most rewarding part of being a mom is the love in the smallest moments—like my baby kissing her books and beaming at me after. After miscarriage, postpartum anxiety, and finishing clinicals one week postpartum, motherhood feels like faith in action. I’m her safe place, and watching her grow, laugh, and light up the world reminds me every day: this love is everything.
What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?Motherhood has taught me that I can do hard things, and that love is worth the risk. After loss and anxiety, I learned that trying to prepare for heartbreak doesn’t protect you, it just steals your joy. Now I choose faith over fear, soaking in the little moments, knowing they aren’t guaranteed—but they are everything.
What would you do with $20,000?I would use $20,000 with intention: 10% to charity, 50% toward a van for our growing family, 25% into my daughter’s education, and 15% to research for Takayasu arteritis—a condition my sister has that took away her ability to have children. It’s a way to build our future while honoring the love, loss, and resilience that shaped us.
