I manage it alone. My parents are deceased, no partner and other set of grandparents live hundreds of miles away.
We would like to thank you for supporting Rose Arevalo in this year's competition. Your participation made a huge impact for Children’s Miracle Network® and their mission to provide life-saving care and improve the health of children across the country.
Those small moments when I see my children do an act of kindness towards someone is when I feel the proudest. Sure, good grades or athletic achievements are wonderful, but what makes me feel most rewarded is when without asking they hold the door open for strangers or think of others before themselves. It's those moments that make it all worth it! It's a pat on the back in itself that I am sending genuinely good people off into the world.
What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?Love is not just a feeling but a daily action and sacrifice. There are times when my personal emotions try to consume and take over but my love for my boys make me get out of bed and make breakfast, pack lunch, encourage them and head into work when I really just wanted to stay in bed. Motherhood has taught me that we have a lot of more endurance, patience, strength and will to persevere than we think.
What would you do with $20,000?I would pay off car loan and get a long overdue haircut. I've been needing a dental implant, I lost a tooth during my cancer journey several years ago, and I'd love to have that molar back. That money would definitely help me live financially free, to splurge on some steak at the grocery store. I'd probably finally buy myself some Hoka tennis shoes and get a gym membership.
