Robin Nielsen

I suffered from infertility for 10 years and then had miracle twin girls. My husband and I then adopted 4 children. Love is at the center.

What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

The most rewarding part is definitely seeing my kids thrive and become these amazing young adults. Several of my children have overcome difficulties with being given up by their biological families. I’ve always been very open with them about their adoptions and it’s actually been quite healing for them. It’s never been this “hush, hush” secret. And just seeing the love they have for one another and the fun times we share….there’s nothing better!

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

Being a mom to so many different personality types has definitely taught me that it’s ok to ask for outside help, whether it’s just bouncing ideas off of friends or having my kids spend time with other trusted moms and dads. I can’t be everything for everyone but the gifts that others have shared with my kids has been priceless!

What would you do with $20,000?

One of my daughters would love to go to nursing school, so the money would be put towards that. My 6 children are close in age so further education expenses can add up very quickly.
