The most rewarding part of being a mom is lifting up your child and helping them find their way through life. I have the unique situation where she only has a single voice to help guide her so I choose my words carefully. Seeing my daughter timid about something, then progress to curious, then progress to overcoming a challenge makes my heart burst with pride. It's unlike anything in the world and I don't want to miss a minute of it.
What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?The biggest lesson about motherhood is patient and kindness. In our house, we constantly repeat "Treat others the way you want to be treated." As a single mom, the day to day tasks of life can be overwhelming. And it's easy to feel the frustration creep into daily life. So sometimes I have to take a step back and see the world through her eyes to reset and approach situations in a different way. I'm constantly checking myself to think - is this how I would want to be treated?
What would you do with $20,000?I would take my daughter on a big trip and then likely put the rest away in savings. We very rarely get to spend quality time together. Money is tight in this economy and I was laid off in 2024 so the future is unknown. I would love to have an amazing all expenses paid adventure with her!
