Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

It’s the little moments —my toddler stomping in puddles, whispering “wow” when she sees the moon. And seeing my CHD warrior still smiling after all she’s been through. They remind me to breathe and enjoy these small, sacred moments. They remind me to find the magic even when everything feels heavy.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

Motherhood has taught me that love and heartbreak can exist at the same time. That you can be strong and breaking, exhausted and still show up. I’ve learned to live in the in-between—holding one child while fighting for another, finding joy in my toddlers curiosity and my babies tiny smiles, even while in the hospital room terrified. It’s taught me to that the smallest moments of connection, love, and presence are the ones that matter most.

What would you do with $20,000?

I’d use it to lift a weight off our shoulders. Medical debt from our baby’s CHD fight would come first. Then a minivan so both my girls can ride together safely. And if there’s anything left, a small trip. Just a few days to breathe, to see my toddler smile freely, and to hold my baby outside of machines and monitors.
