We would like to thank you for supporting Penny Johansen in this year's competition. Your participation made a huge impact for Children’s Miracle Network® and their mission to provide life-saving care and improve the health of children across the country.

What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

See my children live better lives than I did . Feeling the love that you never knew you could have for another person till you become a mother. When you hear other people proud of your children for how they treat people with respect and dignity. When you see your children putting others before themselves and helping the less fortunate without degrading them. Knowing that my children will be prepared for life.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

I have learned that each child brings their own joy and journeys. That no matter how prepared you are there are lessons to learn. That you have to keep your head open to other ideas because sometimes it’s not your way that works the best . COMPROMISE is the biggest thing to help through life as a mom without giving up the respect and morals that need to be gained

What would you do with $20,000?

I think a family get away in the outdoors to form togetherness and save some pay for death costs
