We would like to thank you for supporting Niya Randolph in this year's competition. Your participation made a huge impact for Children’s Miracle Network® and their mission to provide life-saving care and improve the health of children across the country.
Understanding how to parent a child with Level 2 Autism Spectrum Disorder can be challenging, but it’s also one of the most deeply rewarding parts of being a mom because it calls you to love, learn, and connect on a whole different level. The joy often shows up in small but powerful moments—when your child communicates in their own way and you understand them, when they make progress no matter how big or small, and when you discover what brings them comfort and peace. It teaches you patience.
What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?The biggest lesson motherhood teaches is that real love is patient, selfless, and steady—even when you’re tired, overwhelmed, or unsure. It stretches you to grow in ways you didn’t expect, teaching you to let go of control, to slow down, and to meet your children where they are instead of where you thought they’d be. It shows you that strength isn’t always loud—it’s in showing up every day, choosing grace over frustration, and loving deeply through every season.
What would you do with $20,000?With $20,000, I would first secure my home by catching up on rent, utilities, and urgent bills to create peace and stability. Then I’d fix or replace my car to ensure reliable transportation. I’d stock up on groceries and essentials, set aside an emergency fund, and invest a portion into rebuilding income through my insurance work or another home-based opportunity. I’d also support my homeschooling needs and give a small amount to bless someone else.
