The most rewarding part of being a mom is watching your children navigate challenges using the tools and values you’ve taught them. It’s seeing them grow into their own person, while still knowing they can rely on you. I’m also grateful that my kids still want me by their side as their coach, allowing me to support them not just through everyday ups and downs, but also as they grow, learn, and succeed in sports and beyond.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

Motherhood has taught me that you have more space in your heart, and more time in your day, than you ever thought possible. You become incredibly efficient, and even when you’re exhausted, you have a sense of fulfillment knowing your kids have what they need to succeed. It’s also taught me patience, understanding, and a lot of laughter. Watching your children grow, especially when you see pieces of your own personality in them, gives you a whole new appreciation of your own mom.

What would you do with $20,000?

That’s an easy one! I’d put it toward a new car. With hockey bags, sports gear, and the occasional forgotten grocery run with a trunk full of equipment, it’s basically a game of Tetris every day. My car is pushing 300,000 km, and while it’s been incredibly reliable, it’s definitely showing its age. I’d love something safe and dependable to keep up with our busy life—getting my kids to school, birthday parties, and all the rinks and diamonds where so many of our best memories are made.
