What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

When your children are grown, the most rewarding part of being a mom becomes seeing who they chose to become—and knowing you had a hand in it. It’s no longer about the day-to-day care. It’s about watching them navigate life on their own, hearing their values, how they treat people, how they handle hard situations. Seeing their independence, even when it means they don’t need you anymore.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

Motherhood—especially when your kids are grown—teaches you that you can give your kids everything and still have to let them become their own person. At first, you think your job is to protect, guide, and shape every part of their world. And you do. You pour into them, correct them, love them, sacrifice for them. But the biggest lesson? You don’t get to control the outcome, you only get to influence it.
