Being specifically chosen to be these specific children's mom--a connection that has and will continue to mold and shape me while I also mold and shape them! To know I wouldn't be me and they wouldn't be them without having each other is incredibly beautiful and rewarding.
What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?To be present, engaged, and intentional. Time is precious and fleeting, and I want to ensure that creating meaningful, lasting connection with my kiddos trumps all else. While it is SO cool to see them grow and gain independence, their need for connection with you will never go away. It can be easy to become their manager--keeping them fed, bathed, on schedule etc., but taking the time to sit next to them, let them talk, be silly, ask you questions--THAT is what builds relationship and trust.
What would you do with $20,000?Pay off student loan debt, invest in our kiddo's 529's, and maybe plan a little weekend getaway with my husband. We've only been away once without our kiddos since having them, and it wasn't for a vacation or getaway!
