Not a super mom—I’ve missed moments. But my love stayed constant, even when life didn’t.
We would like to thank you for supporting Melissa Mathison in this year's competition. Your participation made a huge impact for Children’s Miracle Network® and their mission to provide life-saving care and improve the health of children across the country.
The most rewarding part of being a mom is watching my kids grow into the people they are becoming and seeing their accomplishments unfold. Seeing them become strong, independent, and capable individuals, overcoming challenges and reaching their goals, is everything. Knowing they are building meaningful lives, treating others with kindness, and finding their own paths is the greatest reward. It’s watching their growth, resilience, and success that brings the deepest sense of pride and joy.
What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?The biggest lesson motherhood has taught me is that there’s no manual—you learn as you go. I’ve made mistakes, had doubts, and missed things I wish I hadn’t. But every misstep taught me something and made me a better mom. It’s not about perfection, it’s about growth, resilience, and loving your kids enough to keep learning and doing better every day.
What would you do with $20,000?I would use it to finally take a breath and rebuild stability for my life and my family. I’ve been in a place of constant stress, trying to stay afloat with seasonal work and several setbacks over the past year that led to uncertain housing and month-to-month renting. I would use it to secure safe, stable housing so I’m no longer carrying the weight of not knowing what comes next, and can finally start rebuilding with peace and stability.
