Seeing my kids happy, being able to be an active positive role model for them. Being open and honest with them regarding my past and experience with addiction and sobriety.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

Motherhood has taught me that love, at its core, is selflessness. Becoming a parent reshaped how I see the world.it’s no longer just about what I want or need, but about putting my children first in every possible way. Their well-being, their happiness, and their future come before my own comfort. It’s a constant, intentional choice to show up for them, even on the hardest days. At the same time, living with substance use disorder has made that lesson more complex.

What would you do with $20,000?

I would put the $20,000 towards my children’s post secondary education. I am in the low income threshold and often worry about not being able to support my kids with whatever they decide to do after high school, like collage or university. I want them to have the opportunities that I didn’t, and having that 20,000 dollars would make it possible for me to support them financially through their future endeavours.
