Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Being a mom has given me a genuine purpose to my life. My children weren't planned so I know they were definitely part of a greater plan. Getting to witness my kids growing up learning, discovering and understanding their own sense of self in this world has been a true blessing. As much as I know my responsibility as their mother is to guide them, the real truth is walking alongside them in their journeys, they've been opening my eyes even wider to all the possibilities I never even knew existed

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

I've been learning and keep learning in these last 20 years of holding the mom title that at the end of the day, love is the only way. Sure, you may lose your cool, lead with a temper and have your emotions take over sometimes but when you let yourself be vulnerable with your kids and show them that mistakes are ok, it's how you repair and learn from them that matter, then you are setting your kids up to take on the world with a kind heart and healing soul all while knowing their worth.

What would you do with $20,000?

As a solo mom with a fluctuating income, that money would be such a wonderful foundational cushion. As much as I'd love to mention all kinds of fun things to do with it, it's really geared to the things we may take for granted like I'd love to update my 9 years old daughter's room since it's been the same since she was 3 years old. This money would allow her to participate in her dream sport: hockey. If I could put it towards a new car that would be the most fantastic wish!
