Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

The most rewarding part is witnessing the world through my children's eyes. It’s in the small, quiet moments a breakthrough in communication, a spontaneous hug, or seeing them support one another. Watching my four children develop their own unique personalities and knowing I am their safe harbor is a privilege. Every milestone they reach, especially the ones they have to work harder for, fills me with a sense of pride that is impossible to put into words.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

The biggest lesson has been the power of presence and the beauty of the 'inch-stones' Navigating life with my non-verbal son has taught me that communication goes far beyond words and that progress isn't always a straight line. As he hits his teenage years this June, I’m reminded that being a 'perfect' mom is a myth being a present, advocating, and loving mom is what truly matters. It has taught me to lead with empathy and to be a fierce voice for those I love.

What would you do with $20,000?

I would use the funds to create a more functional, inclusive environment in our home, specifically a sensory friendly space for my oldest son as he enters his teenage years. As he turns 13 this June, his needs are evolving, and I want to provide him with the best tools for his growth. Additionally, I would take my family on an 'Autism of the Seas' cruise again; these trips offer the perfect balance of adventure and accessibility that my kids love.
