Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

I always say it’s a Miracle that I am a Mom. My four children are all adopted internationally. My late husband and I tried and found miscarriages pushed us to the children we were meant to love and cherish. Our life hasn’t been easy. Seeing my children survive loss and trying to be great parents (or Aunts & Uncles), and really kind humans, is what I think is most rewarding. But truly; just the love we all share has been the best reward.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

The biggest lesson I’ve learned as a Mother is the role changes; but its responsibilities stay the same, try to keep connected; yet give them wings to fly. I’ve been a single parent for 10 years plus to my children and grandchildren too. We lost my late husband over a decade ago to brain cancer and he was super human; so, I’ve tried to be Mom & Dad but I’m always Mom first. The biggest lesson I’ve learned; never give up on your children. Show them they’re always loved!

What would you do with $20,000?

If I was given this honor & prize it would be a miracle! I’d put half towards my debt and half I’d hope to help my children that need any debt help - or maybe buy a small condo closer to my children. I sold my home & moved far to help them and I miss them! Or; I’d buy my grandson a violin & my younger daughter a car-dreamy it is! The best prize is the family trip. I took them all years ago & have hoped to again; this honor would give this joy to us again. It would be a dream come true.
