What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

The most rewarding part of being a mom, especially an adoptive mom, is giving our children a magical childhood. Continuously striving to be the kind of mom I long to be isn't always easy, but seeing them light up with affection, learn new things, explore, be creative, and have incredible opportunities they would have otherwise never had is so rewarding. I am so grateful to be their mom!

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

This question makes me think of the famous Eleanor Roosevelt quote: "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent." I often blame my kids for "making me" frustrated, impatient, sad, etc... but I am continuously learning that I am responsible for my reactions and responses to things. My kids cannot MAKE me do any certain thing, that is up to me! Learning to control my reactions and disciple my kids versus just react and discipline them has been humbling, sanctifying, and more!

What would you do with $20,000?

This amount of money would be life changing! Since quitting work as a speech-language pathologist to stay home and raise our kids, money has been tight. We're working hard to make our 1868 house our forever home, and having this money for necessary upcoming projects would be incredible. Also being able to take the kids on family vacations to help them create core memories would be amazing!
