From active duty jet engine mechanic to stay at home mom, I love serving my country and my family

The most rewarding part of being a mom is watching my son fall in love with all the things I grew up loving. Even though he’s still a baby, I can start to see his personality shine. I love seeing him smile and dance when we listen to music together. He also loves trying new foods, working in the garage with us, and going for drives. It reminds me to appreciate all the special moments every day.
What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?Motherhood has taught me that life isn’t about me, it’s about the people I love. What I want to achieve will never matter more than showing up for my family. Building a strong home and community means more than any degree or promotion, because those are the people who will stand by you at your lowest.
What would you do with $20,000?We’d invest the $20,000 into making our 1960s home safe and reliable—repairing critical electrical and structural issues. As we grow our family, it would help us create a secure, comfortable space where our children can thrive.
