What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Seeing how much my boy has grown since coming home from the Nicu. Dallas was born at 36 and 6 due to igur. We then stayed at the Canadian Red Deer Ronald McDonald house while our boy was in the Nicu for the first week due to not eating. Now we are holding our head up, interacting and partaking in lots of family time whenever possible! He also just broke through his first tooth. Seeing him grow and accomplish so much has been so rewarding.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

It’s okay to feel overwhelmed, scared, but never lose your patience.You had a baby, first be proud of yourself for that, you are currently trying to keep a tiny human alive, and take care of yourself. You can never have enough patience when it comes to being a mom, sometimes you forget to pack an extra onesie, or you forgot to close the diaper cream and it’s all over your diaper bag. Motherhood may be busy but, take a breath, remind yourself you’re doing great!

What would you do with $20,000?

I think I would donate a quarter to the Red Deer Ronald McDonald house, we wouldn’t have been able to afford staying close to our boy without him and they gave us unimaginable support, a home away from home. With the rest I would hope to put it towards a place to live for my my boyfriend Devon and my boy Dallas. It would mean the world to give him a home to grow up in!
