Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Being my children’s safe place. They come to me with everything. That makes me feel so special. They know that no matter what they need I am 10000% here for them and I will help them no matter what.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

Patience, grace and flexibility. Having a young adult child (19) with a disability and a younger child (6) means no 2 days are the same. That to be a good mom I need to be able to go with the flow while still creating a structure for them to follow. Also to be a good step parent I have to be supportive and present for them as well. Some days I’m great at it and other days I’m not so great but at the end of the day it’s what I was put on earth to do. I truly believe that.

What would you do with $20,000?

I work as a para professional for kids with special needs so my salary isn’t the best but I love what I do. So I would save some so I can have some money for the summer when I’m out of school. I’d like to go on a fabulous vacation with my whole family. Our 2 oldest are seniors this year and one last hurrah with everyone would be fantastic! I’d also like to do something good for the autistic community. I just want to be a good human for my kids. To set the best example possible.
