What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

My son is very shy and it takes a bit for him to feel comfortable in situations, as a mom it is most rewarding for me to see him break out of his shell and interact and be himself with not only other children but adults as well. Living in today's world that can be so harsh sometimes, I always want my children to know they are always allowed to be themselves and they will be accepted. When they are able to do that, that is the most rewarding to me and I know I have done something right as a mom.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

Patience, patience is the biggest lesson I have learned in motherhood. Patience goes a long way with both children and in many different aspects of motherhood. Who hasn't had that daughter (or son) who has wanted to do everything on their own? And as much as it would be easier for us to step in and do it for them, showing them that we can be patient and allowing them to have that little bit of independence goes such a long way. Patience is a hard skill, but boy is it worth it.

What would you do with $20,000?

I'd take a balanced approach with it. I'd invest the majority so it can grow over time and work for my future, because I really value financial security and long-term goals. But I'd also set aside a portion to actually enjoy - probably a great family trip or a meaningful experience. I think it's important to be responsible with money, but also to use it in a way that creates memories and improves your quality of life.
