Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

The best part of being a mom is watching my two sons grow into the little men they’re becoming. I love seeing their personalities develop and change over time, and discovering what makes each of them unique. Whether I’m cheering them on in sports or spending time together doing arts and crafts, those moments are so meaningful to me. I often wonder what parts of me they’ll carry with them as they grow, but I’m most grateful for the chance to guide them into kind, funny, and caring individuals.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

The biggest lesson motherhood has taught me is that no two children are the same, and parenting each one requires a different approach. From getting their attention to explaining, disciplining, calming, or encouraging them, what works for one may not work for the other. Learning to meet each child where they are has helped me grow in patience, understanding, and flexibility as a mom.

What would you do with $20,000?

With $20,000, I would put half into college funds for my boys so it can grow over the next 12–14 years. I want them to have the freedom to choose a path that makes them happy, whether that’s a technical school or a university. I would use the remaining funds to help pay down debt. While I make an effort to teach them about finances, I also want to protect their childhood—allowing them to stay kids for as long as possible without the stress of financial worries.
