Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

The most rewarding part of being a mom is the hugs out of nowhere, the “I love you’s” unprovoked, and the ability to relive my childhood, on my terms, through the experiences of my children. I have learned so much about myself, even, as being a parent requires sacrifice and unwavering loyalty to their best interests. The world loves to pressure mothers to conform to society, yet we chose to focus on being good humans, as everything naturally follows.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

The biggest lesson I’ve learned through parenthood is that being happy does not supersede being their parent. You must be willing to consider that everyday and every decision you make is their childhood and will be remembered, so make sure it’s something they remember fondly.

What would you do with $20,000?

With $20,000, I’d first donate to various organizations such as my parish library and the community theater where we attend and perform as to keep the art of ‘stage play’ alive. I would also take my family on vacation! We have a 9 day trip planned out, with lots of history and landmarks, we are only missing the funds. We’re saving, but that’s very hard to do on one income, in this economy, and with 8 people living here!
