Being a mom to 13-month-old twins, Paulie and Tessa, who spent their first 3 months in the NICU is deeply emotional and rewarding. I once watched them through wires and prayed for moments I now live every day. Every laugh, step, and hug feels like a miracle. Their strength changed me, and loving them after everything we’ve been through makes every moment feel incredibly precious.
What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?The biggest lesson I’ve learned in motherhood is that love is stronger than fear. Watching Paulie and Tessa grow after their journey into this world showed me patience, resilience, and the power of hope. Every small victory matters, and every moment—joyful or hard—is precious. Motherhood taught me to cherish the present, trust in their strength, and know that love can carry us through even the toughest beginnings.
What would you do with $20,000?After spending our entire cushion on medical bills and taking six extra months of unpaid maternity leave to care for Paulie and Tessa, $20,000 would finally bring relief. I’d rebuild a safe, cozy home, cover essentials we couldn’t afford, save for emergencies, and create special family memories. Most of all, it would let me breathe and feel secure again—a reward for making it through the hardest months and a chance to truly enjoy the life we worked so hard to protect.
