I’m a single mom raising 4-year-old triplets. It’s been a wild, beautiful journey. Super grateful to be considered!
We would like to thank you for supporting Lauren Barnes in this year's competition. Your participation made a huge impact for Children’s Miracle Network® and their mission to provide life-saving care and improve the health of children across the country.
The most rewarding part of being a mom is getting to watch my kids grow into who they are... Their personalities, curiosity, and little senses of humor shine a bit more every day. Being a single mom of triplets isn’t always easy, but it’s incredibly fulfilling to know I’m raising resilient, joyful kids. Even on the toughest days, their laughter, love, and the bond we share make it all worth it.
What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that you can’t control everything; there’s a lot of freedom in that. Letting go of perfection has humbled me and helped me be more present in the moments that really matter. It’s also given me a whole new appreciation for how hard parenting truly is, and for everything my own parents did to support me. More than anything, I’ve learned that kids don’t care about material things or how much money you spend; they just want your time, your love, and attention.
What would you do with $20,000?I’d likely use the money to ease some of the childcare costs, which would be such a gift in itself. I’d also love to put it toward extracurriculars I wouldn’t normally be able to swing...Extra swim lessons, Dance classes, Sports - to give my kids the chance to explore, try new things, and discover what they love.
