Lashay Monduy

I lost my 15 month old son to cancer in 2021. I now have two after him, & one on the way. God has given me strength to keep going!

What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Honestly… When they get sick, they want to sit on my lap and let me hold them more. I am sure it won’t last very long, but it’s one of the most rewarding parts. My son is sick right now and he just wanted me to hold him and comfort him and tell him that he’s going to get better. I have been homeschooling as well and the most rewarding part is watching them understand something new, and get excited and even laugh about it at such a young age. That is so very rewarding.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

Motherhood has taught me that it’s not all about me. God gave me gifts, (my babies) so I have to take care of such a delicate gift so they can be a blessing and love others as adults.

What would you do with $20,000?

I would buy and plant more blueberries at our farm, and other survival crops, so we have sustainable food for our local community and neighbors. We have 3 vehicles out right now, so I would most likely also buy a van for my babies with ac. Our old Yukon we just got from a neighbor is rusty and has no ac, and in florida it gets hot. So we are very strategic how we leave the house with our kiddos. Our kiddos are 11, 2.5, 17 months and 3 weeks old. We are busy but very blessed nonetheless.
