Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Experiencing unconditional love while becoming the safe, steady presence I didn't have growing up. As a child who grew up in poverty, I often felt lost and invisible. But when my daughter smiles at me, I can't help but think: she is so loved and she will always feel seen. Nothing beats watching my kids laugh and run to me for comfort and it is so rewarding to pursue my dreams alongside motherhood, because when my kids watch me go after mine, I hope they'll never be afraid to go after their own.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

Motherhood taught me that healing is both a choice and a responsibility. I didn't grow up with stability or loving support, so I made it my mission to become the mother I needed. My husband and I survived 2 miscarriages and 9 months of trying before our son was conceived. When my maternity leave ended after 3 months, my boss took away my ability to work from home. I felt it in my gut - I couldn't let someone else raise the child we fought so hard for. No salary is worth his childhood. I quit.

What would you do with $20,000?

First? BREATHE. As a family of 4 on one income, $20k means freedom. Our goal for 2026 is becoming debt-free (minus the mortgage), and this would get us there. $20k would help fund our kids' education so they never carry student loans while staying home with their babies like I am now. I'd put my toddler in jiu jitsu (...boy energy, duh!), and give my kids experiences I never had as a child - ice cream dates, travel, just joy. It means my family having room to breathe and dream.
