Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

As cliche as it is, the most rewarding part is seeing my little one smile and grow. He's nearly 2, but it feels like yesterday that he was a newborn in my arms. Seeing him learn new things, explore the world, and his personality growing is the most rewarding part of it all. After a long shift or exams, seeing him reminds me why I'm doing it all.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

The biggest lesson it's taught me is to learn to ask for help. Its still something I'm not great at, but every day I've slowly gotten better. Moms are expected to go above and beyond every day, even if they're tired or sick. I've heard about my own moms struggles and others I've talked to, its not a job you can always do alone, but I know many out there do it anyway. Im grateful to be able to have the chance to ask for help when needed; I just need to get better as asking for it.

What would you do with $20,000?

With 20k I'd be able to get a place for me and my son to call home, something thats undeniably ours and stable. Being a young, single mom means I have a lot of disadvantages and things working against me, but every day I do my best and want to give my son the world. As the saying goes, "It takes a village", I can't thank mine enough and want to make them proud as well. My own home, where my son can play and grow, would be one step closer to providing a stable home and career.
