Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Honestly, seeing how Charlotte has become her own person with the best personality! How I know that I've given her and will continue to give her every opportunity to be and do the things she WANTS to do, in a world that isn't built for her- I break down the walls, clear the paths, and make room for her. But the best most rewarding is just seeing how incredibly happy she is and how happy she makes others.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

Being Charlotte's mom has taught me to be unbothered because if she's ok, then I'm ok. It has taught me to always see the bigger picture, to empathize more with others. It has also taught me to take care of myself. I hope Charlotte lives a long life and I want to take care of her for as long as possible; in order to do that, I need to take care of myself both mentally and physically- a challenge for a typical mom and an even bigger one for a medical mom like me.

What would you do with $20,000?

My husband has unfortunately been out of work for almost a year now, so the first thing that pops into my mind is just to use it to help with rent. Other than that, our main focus is always saving money so some day we can build/buy an ADA accessible home and ensure Choo has everything she could need/want when we're gone.
