The most rewarding part of being Mark’s mom is watching him grow, achieve what once seemed impossible, and shine in his own unique way. Every milestone, big or small, reminds me of his strength. Our bond is unbreakable—I am his advocate, his safe place, and his biggest supporter. Through him, I’ve found purpose, not only in motherhood but in helping other families feel seen, supported, and never alone.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

Motherhood has taught me patience, resilience, and the power of unconditional love. It showed me that progress looks different for every child and that strength is built in the unseen moments. I’ve learned to celebrate small victories, trust the journey, and lead with compassion. Most of all, it taught me that being present, consistent, and believing in my child makes all the difference.

With $20,000, I would invest in expanding my mission to support children with exceptional needs. I’d enhance resources for Mark St. Claire Xceptional Empowerment Children’s Program—funding sensory tools, books, and outreach through the sensory bookmobile. I’d also host impactful community events, provide support for families, and create more opportunities for children to feel seen, included, and empowered to thrive.
