Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

When my children were born, their smiles warmed my heart; I felt that was the best reward. The most rewarding part of being a mom is watching my children grow and develop in all aspects of their life. I love to give advice, model for them and help them work through challenges. I love to help them shoot for the stars in terms of their goals and dreams. I know I am supporting them to become the adults they are meant to be. That is the greatest gift as a mom, to know they feel loved and supported.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

Honestly, motherhood has taught me to be selfless and humble. It has been the greatest journey of my life. As a single mother, I have learned that accolades and praise and support are not a part of the daily life. But, when my children quietly hold my hand or snuggle into me, I know I have created a safe and loving space for them. That is the greatest gift I can give them, at any age. Motherhood is love in the purest form.

What would you do with $20,000?

Honestly, I would take my children on an adventure to see the world. That has not been a part of my budget. I am blessed with such loving and kindhearted children. I would want them to experience the world, witness different cultures, and develop a love for humankind. Not only would we experience the world, but determine how we can give back to those less fortunate as we have had many blessings.
