Connect What is the most rewarding part of being a mom?

Seeing your kids thrive, especially when they are growing into adults is high on the list. We have watched them take some really big leaps of faith into jobs, schools, or just buckling down to be the best they can be, so that is always rewarding to see. Our goal is to raise kind, productive adults who love Jesus and put others first! Most recently we have been focusing on helping our son be a better student and focus on that area and to see his hard work payoff recently has been very rewarding.

What is the biggest lesson motherhood has taught you?

This is a tough question. As a mom who got pregnant at 19, I've learned so many things. My first born and I really grew up together. My husband and I have had a heart for orphans. When we were done having our own children, we stepped into the foster care world and that is where our 5th child came into the picture! Meeting him at 4 days old and now seeing him as a 15 year old boy, almost man, his path has not been easy, but just like him, never quit, it’s always worth it!

What would you do with $20,000?

This is also tough. Paying off debt would be high on our list of priorities. I would also like to help our daughters pay down their student loans. Another thing I would like to do is give some back to our parents. They gave so much to us while they raised us and have even been integral in helping us be better parents. While this answer seems like its all over the place, ultimately the money would be used in multiple ways. Taking some stress off of people we love would be the best use of it.
